Mike arrived promptly, and was polite, friendly, and extremely easy to talk with about any concerns, questions about my basement; he also answered many other questions about other areas of my home which I requested information about. He was very patient, and spent a great deal of time conducting the inspection, and making certain that I understood the information he conveyed to me; in fact, he went above and beyond what most inspectors provide in the way of expertise, and “time spent” on the job. Fortunately, for me, Mike found no major problem areas, or areas of future major concern; his only recommendation was to have a dehumidifier installed in order to remove water from the air which will greatly reduce chances of mold, allergens, and musty odors and air that will not only affect the basement, but also the upstairs living space which would be drier and healthier with a dehumidifier. Plus, dry air is less costly and easier to heat and cool which is another benefit for any homeowner. I certainly received an education in this area from Mike who is so knowledgeable in his technical field, yet has the gift of explaining all in a clear, simplistic manner. I also appreciated the fact that he did not attempt to “hard sell” me; instead, he left the final decision up to me….completely no pressure. It was a pleasure to have Mike conduct the inspection, and discuss his evaluation with me. I heartily recommend Mike and his company to others who desire an honest, thorough, and excellent inspection of their basement or crawlspace.

I contacted Enviropro because I noticed moisture stains appearing outdoors on the stucco that covers cinder block that makes up part of our crawlspace foundation last winter. I requested the $49 Basement Inspection Package. I spoke with a very helpful customer service rep. who scheduled an appointment with the owner Mike. He arrived during a snowstorm and thoroughly checked the area outside as well as inside our crawlspace. He recommended sealing the crawlspace vents and answered all of my questions. He was very patient and thorough with his explanations of his assessment. We later scheduled the appointment to have the vents sealed, and Mike was able to squeeze us in the schedule shortly after the inspection despite being down an employee and having a packed schedule. The job was done well and the moisture stains have decreased dramatically. The price was also very reasonable.

The short story: This is a glowing endorsement of this company. If you are looking for waterproofing/basement expertise, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT HESITATE to call. The long story: We bought a new home and found we had a leak in the basement. We first hired a reputable plumber to check it out, thinking it was a problem with our sump pump because the leak was near there. However, the plumber said it wasn’t a plumbing problem and instead thought it was a waterproofing problem. So I went on Angie’s list and found dozens of outstanding reviews for this company and went for the $55 consultation. Boy, was that the right move! I should have known with the reference packet he sent us before his visit and the awards he’s received on Angie’s list. Mike (the owner) responded promptly, came out and was professional, courteous, and had a great manner. He was very collaborative in his approach and walked us through his evaluation every step of the way. He took his time and had a few hypotheses of the problem, but ultimately, one of his suggestions was correct: it was a small leak in the main sewage line going into the wall near the sump pump- it was his observation of the drain flies that made him think this. It was real detective work! I should mention the process actually took 2 visits, with in-between suggestions on discovering the problem. Initially, we all thought it was a drainage issue, and we talked numbers for replacement (his quotes seemed reasonable). However on the second visit, he cracked the case by his suggestion, as he was insistent on checking the root of the problem (which turned out to be plumbing problem, misdiagnosed by first plumber). I have never met a contractor that was as transparent, honest, and dependable as he is. It was truly awesome. I will recommend him to all my friends and family and feel wonderful about having consulted him. A real gem in the back pocket!

Everything went very well. When I called EnviroPRO Basement Solutions I was given an appointment. A packet was mailed to me to review before Mike Troyner came to my house. The packet included a list of customers with phone numbers. I called two of the numbers and both individuals were very pleased with the work that was done. One in particular had their basement water proofed in 2006 and has had no problems with the system. Everything was explained to me as to how and what they would be doing in great detail and a price was given to me. This new system has preformed outstandingly in our flood prone neighborhood. Out entire basement remains DRY when everyone else is bailing out from unexpected heavy rainfall. The owner came to our home and completely explained what was wrong and how they would address the exsisting problems with water leakage into our basement. No other company we called spent the time to thoroughly explain what they would do, how they would do it, the time frame involved, and any possible complications that may or may not surface. Everything they promised (date, time involved, price, etc.) was delivered exactly as promised. We would recommend this company to everyone. Although we were hesitant at first to call them since they are not in the south Jersey area, it was a wise decision and one we are glad we made.

After hurricane Irene we got a lot of water in the basement. It went pretty good. They sent a guy out just to give us an estimate. He was much more in depth than some of these other places. They came in with I-pads and fancy tools. He was able to answer all of our questions, there were questions which he didn’t have answers for but he got back to us. Once we settled on a price, which was cheaper than several of these other places, we scheduled the appointment. The guys came, they said it would take four days, it took five, but they were scheduled for five anyway. It was fine. They had three guys come in. It was pretty clean. They were jack-hammering out concrete. They did the best they could. We actually requested that the line be run all the way out to the street. Normally they just kind of have it go out about ten feet out from the house. They special ran a pipe all the way out to the sidewalk and put the water to the street. That was an extra that they did which was good. They were professional and did their thing. At some point we might hook up a dehumidifier, we finished the basement. That was another thing that they offered. That plugs right into the system which works very well also. In the beginning we weren’t really sure if it was working, but we got a lot of heavy rain and it was going off all the time. We haven’t had a drop of water since.

A designer appeared punctually for the appointment we had made with Enviropro. He gave us an estimate within one day along with a design that we needed to apply for a building permit. After signing the contract for the work, three workers showed up on the day we agreed upon and finished most of the job. Our job was delayed because the township building inspector wanted to see the work before the cement was poured back over the collection system. The inspector was quite pleased with the work and commented that it appeared to be a “real professional job.” Two workers completed the job after we had obtained the building inspector’s approval. We contracted for a second job for the crawl space about a week later after we observed some moisture in the crawl space. We had the same great experience the second time. In fact, the workers showed up in the snow on one of the coldest days of the year and proceeded to spend much of the time outside the home trenching and installing a draining system for the new sump pump.

Mike was a pleasure to work with. I had been living out the country for five years and had had some water in the basement from time to time since we bought the house in 2003. We returned to the country in June and wanted the basement dry so that can refinish the basement. Mike came to my house even though I was not there and did not charge an extra fee to come to a rental property (which is was at the time). He gave an excellent bid that was about 2000 less and 1000 less than two other quotes from reputable Angie’s list members (always get three quotes!). When I returned to the area in June, the work had been completed perfectly and the basement was clean. We have had lots of rain in the past couple weeks, but the basement is dry! Thanks Mike for everything, just as promised. FYI, if you are thinking of finishing the basement, Enviropro recommended to us ways to prevent mold. This means not using any organic building material. We should put down rubberized flooring before we install carpet. Also they recommended using metal studs and special basement drywall and installing a vapor barrier.

Mike was professional and willing to work with us on makiing the system work for us. Instead of installing a second sump pump we preferred to use the existing sump and he worked with us (others refused to use an existing working sump and wanted to dig a new one). He explained the type of system he would use and answered my questions. He was available by phone for follow up questions. The work was scheduled for 3 days but they completed in 2 (although the second day was until 8 pm). I was not present while they were working, and although there was a little dust in the basement, it was minimal so they must have protected the area while jackhammering. Hard to evaluate the system since we havent had any rain since, but it appears to be well done. They warranty the areas where they install the system so as long as you know where its coming in, you can be pretty sure you will be covered. Overall i am very satisfied with the work done.

They installed 30′ of water guard and 30′ of 4″ plastic pipe for french drain, Bilco door drain, stone, etc. in the same trench to a new sump pit with 1/3 hp Zoeller cast iron pump,and an 1 1/2″ discharge line in the corner of my basement where I would get water on my floor during severe rain storms. The process started with Mike Troyner coming out to assess the problem and a solution, then a written proposal (which was the lowest price) I told him as he was leaving that I had several proposals and would get back to him, he did not bad mouth the other companies or their systems (seems common among a few of the other bids) and I knew I wanted to do business with him. The crew showed up on schedule, they were very polite and professional and worked very hard. They put up a plastic wall to keep the dust to a minimum, laid a canvas tarp down where they came thru my garage to my back yard, and cleaned up every bit of mess that they made.

The work looked very strenuous. The team came in and covered my floor. Then they jackhammered all around my basement, cleared out the rubble of the saturated floor by putting it in buckets and carrying them outside to haul it away and put in the system as Mike described. They fit the system in place, stoned it up and then sprayed the floor and swept debris. They installed a sump pump and discharged the water outside by an underground pipe. They also installed a dehumidifier that drains right into the sump lid. The guys concreted back over the system that they had installed, collected trash and left my basement clean and dry. When Jason and the team came to waterproof my basement water was already on the floor from the rain the day before. They worked quickly to establish drainage to first get the water out of the way. I was lucky enough to see my system being installed and working right away as water poured in from my walls. The whole time I thought they were doing a great job. I was stunned to see it working right in front of my eyes for all of my own attempts to stop the water had failed. It didn’t matter which member I asked when I wanted to know what was going on. They all knew what was going on and seemed to work with each other very well. I even bought the guys lunch. After that, Jason explained the work that would be done outside. I was told the job would take two whole days but these guys worked clean and they worked fast and when they came back for day two they were finished the concrete by noon. The boys didn’t stay for lunch this time. After Jason described the service schedule they were off.

Enviro Pro started by addressing the problem areas of the basement. First they jack hammered the floor against the exterior walls down to the footings. Then after all the broken concrete was cleaned out they drilled weep holes through the exterior walls to direct the water into the new system. Once the trench was cleaned again they installed some small pebbles on the base of their trench before adding the water proofing system. Once all the channel pieces were set, the small pebbles were used to take up the rest of the room. Once that was complete a sump was dug out, installed with emergency alarm and finally all the flooring was gone over with new concrete so that by the time they were done it was like they were never there at all. Absolutely awesome job. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Mike Troyner was a breath of fresh air after the four other shady characters we had over to give us a quote on our basement (and one of them was another Basement Systems dealer). Mike accommodated our difficult schedule and didn’t give us a huge price, just to cut it in half like the other guys did when we didn’t sign then and there, and he didn’t knock any other company to the sale. Everyone else had something bad to say about other companies. WE got a fair price and the work was done exactly the way it was explained. Their crew was great — hard working, nice young men. They were courteous and respectful of our belongings, and they kept us up-to-date on their progress over two day. The cleanup was much better than I expected. Overall, this was a good experience thanks to Mike Troyner and his great bunch of guys. Enviro Pro runs a tight ship and we would recommend them to anyone.
